2018 Week 1 And so it begins

So many beautiful spring flowers.

Peonies.

Peonies, dark sweet peas, white goat's beard, purple delphinium and lavender colored catmint. Quite a cart full of beauty.

These sweet peas have two colors. Foxglove is also in this cart.

In the background we are growing golden hops. Any ideas on what is in the foreground?

So many pretty spring flowers.

Catmint, pink and yellow snapdragons, white bell flowers, pink tinged Canterbury bells.

Peonies, dark pink Sweet William, bending blue Veronica with apricot foxgloves.

A couple bouquets.

Tall off white foxglove, pale pink peonies with flecks of dark pink in the centers, delicate verbascum with its arching habit.

Bright lilies, dark pink peonies, for greenery add in a bit of hyssop. In the background, a tall yellow verbascum with a plum center.

Canterbury bells in multiple colors.

I adore pink flowers of all kinds. Lupine, peonies, Sweet William, foxgloves, snapdragons, Jupiter's Beard.

So many to choose from. 

Bouquets for days.

Meadowsweet is so delicate looking.

Peonies thrive here on Shady Maple Farm and have for decades. Mom loved peonies.

Angie took some of grandpa Ken's handwritten recipes and came up with "grandpa font". She then made this sign. It is sooo Lisa and my dad's handwriting. Pretty cool, right?

Toasting our first CSA week for our 7th year. Good times.

Trying to streamline our production, electrical tape makes 20 sections. Fewer times counting to 20 during a production day as we have 20 harvest boxes going out each Tuesday.

Beautifully fragrant bundles of lavender are getting put together.

MANY plants fit into this 150 foot long row. 9 inches apart with room to walk along the edges.

The first of the onion seedlings we grew from seed are in the ground.
