We practice sustainability at the farm. Crop rotation, use of drip irrigation and re-using the flower water each week are some of the ways we are being kind to the earth.

We have two harvest boxes available for this coming 2019 season as of May 19th. If interested please email Lorrie at shadymaplefarmcsa@gmail.com and leave me a note. I will send you information. 18 weeks of fresh produce, herbs, berries and tree fruits when they are in season along with a weekly bouquet of beautiful flowers for $500.
We do have just flower subscriptions available.
A Full Flower Share is 18 weeks of gorgeous bouquets for $230 or a Half Share, every other week for a total of 9 weeks of flowers for $115.
Please email Lorrie at shadymaplefarmcsa@gmail.com if you are interested.

Pick up would be on Tuesdays between 4:00 - 6:00 pm at Shady Maple Farm, 8005 Portland Rd. N.E. Salem, Oregon. Our season lasts from May 28 to September 24, 2019.

Week 16, September 10, 2013

Little one picking and blowing on the "wishies".

Mary brought FUN things today!

They both have theirs spinning like crazy!

A rainbow of carrots.

Red Pontiac potatoes.

A wide variety of tomatoes with notes
for how many each box can have.

Snowberry cherry tomatoes are
prolific right now.

Smaller red ones are Mexico Midgets.

Berry scones for our morning snack.

Green beans.

Asian pears.

Carrots in the rays of the sun.

Beets are rinsed and waiting to be boxed.

Green and yellow tomatillos.

Sunshine on the grapes.

Dad packing the corn they picked and
also packing his helper.

Zinnias waiting to be picked.

This bee comes in for a landing.

Pear torte anyone? This was incredible.

Salad with green zebra tomatoes.
Build our own lunch. Love it!

A cart full of zinnias.

Grams and another little great niece of mine entertain each other.
I don't know who was having more fun!

Our large heavy, volunteer sunflower is ripening.

Dahlias and ornamental grasses.
Baby strollers in the background.

Lisa was very sick today. We are trying our hand at arranging. The four of us, Angie, Anna, Stephanie and I each made a few bouquets. Lisa usually is our creative master with the flowers!
We sure missed her for many reasons today.

Our handiwork.

Another one.
Consulting taking place in the background.

We are getting brave!

Not as many pictures taken today.
Picking more things resulted in less camera time.
So this is "the end".

Week 15, September 3, 2013

Zinnias love warm weather with plenty of water.

More zinnias.

Even more.

A bee hiding in the shadow of this dahlia.

Swirls of color. Little critters in the folds.

Inside petals are a different color
than the ones that have open already. I really like the swirls.

Calla lilies with speckled leaves.

A dahlia sunbathing.

Yellow eggplant. Yup!

Along with a few purple ones.

More critters on a dahlia.

Helpers await more boxes before we head out on my Dad's golf cart. He used it to get around The Farm his last couple years.
I have the BEST crew!

One way to pick out your pumpkin!
They are posing for me on their orange "chairs".
This pumpkin and the next pictures were taken by my soon to be first grade great nephew. He likes to take pictures and so I handed him the camera. He has a very good eye, I think!

He caught his cousins sitting and waiting on the golf cart.
(No key in it, by the way.)

I LOVE this one!!!

I asked him to try and get pictures of all the pumpkins.
Even these white ones.

The little "Jack Be Little" orange pumpkins and the "Baby Boo" little white ones.

His eye level view of this pretty sunflower.
I really like the way he catches the light.

He saw this one in the view finder of the digital camera after he took it and ran over to show me.
"I caught the sun" he said. He sure did!

Wow. Love this one, too.
His height and the light make a great combination.

Another one that shows off the color of the sunflower.

He must have been crawling around under those leaves like crazy!

And then he looked up. Sunflowers from an almost 1st graders viewpoint. I love the colors and the framing and the clouds.

His cousin and little sister in action on the parked golf cart.

Up close sunflower.

His last one is this one showing how white pumpkins are hooked together.

He has passed the camera back to me.
She loves this little patty pan squash!

Ohhh, the little one is lucky to have her sun hat today.

A cluster of grapes.

These grapes are thick!

Veggie lasagna for lunch today.
Cheesy and wonderful!

Fresh salsa with avocado.
This was awesome! We could have eaten it with
a spoon. No chip needed.

Indigo Rose. Bred by OSU tomato breeders for that "good for you" vegetable goodness. Purple on the outside like a blueberry, with anthocyanins.   Red on the inside and bottom with lycopene.

A variety of grapes sizes, colors, textures, and tastes.

Green zebra tomatoes in the foreground. They are ripe.

Costuloto Genovese tomatoes are crinkly around the edges.
