We practice sustainability at the farm. Crop rotation, use of drip irrigation and re-using the flower water each week are some of the ways we are being kind to the earth.

We have two harvest boxes available for this coming 2019 season as of May 19th. If interested please email Lorrie at shadymaplefarmcsa@gmail.com and leave me a note. I will send you information. 18 weeks of fresh produce, herbs, berries and tree fruits when they are in season along with a weekly bouquet of beautiful flowers for $500.
We do have just flower subscriptions available.
A Full Flower Share is 18 weeks of gorgeous bouquets for $230 or a Half Share, every other week for a total of 9 weeks of flowers for $115.

Week 6

Just a few pictures this week as I was on a baseball trip in the Midwest with my husband. My niece Angie took these photos as a snapshot of the day.

Lisa bundling sage that has been picked and then put in water to stay a tad fresher in this hot weather.

Jamie and Other Mary bundle kale and put it in cool water until right before people arrive to pick up their boxes.

Celery, bundles of chives, rhubarb and Swiss Chard hydrate in buckets and pans.

Blueberries, Marionberries, a yellow crookneck squash, lettuce, cilantro, raspberries, an artichoke and beets make an appearance this week.

Sweet peas in a variety of colors, a zucchini, beets, colorful Swiss Chard and snap peas.

Today's box.
Left to right: This box's bouquet has Sweet peas and there are snap peas, Swiss Chard, variegated sage, celery in the back, beets, a yellow crookneck squash, an artichoke, blueberries, Marionberries, raspberries, lettuce, basil, cilantro, tomatoes and sweet peppers.

My husband and I were in Detroit, Michigan at 9:04 pm watching the Detroit Tigers play baseball. I looked on my phone to see what the temperature was in Salem. At 6:04 Salem time it was 99 degrees. OH MY! I bet is was a really warm time picking today.
