We practice sustainability at the farm. Crop rotation, use of drip irrigation and re-using the flower water each week are some of the ways we are being kind to the earth.

We have two harvest boxes available for this coming 2019 season as of May 19th. If interested please email Lorrie at shadymaplefarmcsa@gmail.com and leave me a note. I will send you information. 18 weeks of fresh produce, herbs, berries and tree fruits when they are in season along with a weekly bouquet of beautiful flowers for $500.
We do have just flower subscriptions available.
A Full Flower Share is 18 weeks of gorgeous bouquets for $230 or a Half Share, every other week for a total of 9 weeks of flowers for $115.

Week 16 Another beautiful day on the farm

After all the boxes have been picked up for the day Lisa delicately fiddles with a huge bouquet of zinnias that will be going home with our great nephew's family (he's in the background).

Muffy picking cherry tomatoes like a trooper. They are time consuming to pick. Thanks Muffy!

Our 1950s cherry boxes are waiting to be filled for this Tuesday.

Watermelon watching over some of our potted dahlias in the background.

The morning glories bloom like crazy each morning, then close up each evening. They try to face the sun.

Angie seems to enjoy picking the jalapenos!

Corn on the left, the feathery tall green is Sweet Annie, the colorful flowers in the front are strawflowers.

A very tall wall of sunflowers.

Leeks grow and look like sharp edged onions.

Angie and I are digging these leeks. They have very strong, tough roots. They don't want to come up. Lots of work!

Trimming and then washing. The pink handled trimmers and the green handled, very sharp knife, are good tools for this job.

Melon salad, part of our wonderfully fresh lunch.

The grapes have been put in their bags. These are the ones that are left behind. I'm a bit behind with my photo ops today.

Different colors of kale.

Striped Red Stuffer. A hollow tomato to stuff with your favorite filling. Mmm, maybe tuna salad?
The inside of the Striped Red Stuffer tomato.

A wide variety of tomatoes. These are all ripe; red, pink, yellow and green (which is also ripe).

This zucchini looks like a yellow crayon with a green outside that has been partially sharpened. Pretty spiffy.

Levi enjoying his box of cherry tomatoes.

Today's contents. Lemon grass sprawls down in front.

Today's list.

See you next time on the blog.
Lorrie
